Chris Christie bashed John Kasich in his new book, “Let Me Finish”:
He asked how I was doing. I told him, okay, considering. “You know what happened to you, don’t you, Chris?†he said.
I told him I didn’t.
“God wanted you to play right field, and you insisted on playing shortstop. No matter how many times God told you to play right field, you insisted on playing shortstop. And last night, you went out to shortstop, and the ball went through your legs.â€
Right there, I understood why so many people in politics despised John Kasich. . . .
“And John,†I asked, “what does God have in mind for you?â€
He didn’t hesitate. “I think you’re going to see that very clearly over the next couple of months.â€
A spokesperson for Kasich claimed that the quote is false.Â
Kasich spokesman Chris Schrimpf, in an email Thursday, disputed Christie’s account.
According to Schrimpf, Kasich and Christie had a roughly 30-second phone call after the New Hampshire primary, during which Kasich wished Christie well and said he considered him a friend.
“The anecdote may make for a nice story in a book, but it’s fiction,†Schrimpf stated.
This is and will always be a he said she said claim but it is hard for me not to believe Christie on this subject. Kasich has a long history of virtue signaling in public and using God to defend his political beliefs. If you aren’t a Kasich moderate then he thinks you are immoral.
