BAD Trump: Trump defends Bill O’Reilly amid sexual harassment scandal

Look nobody thinks Trump is perfect. His mouth has gotten him in trouble on many occasions in the past especially in regards to his remarks towards women. It seems like Trump hasn’t quite learned this lesson.

The New York Times Reported that Bill O’Reilly had been involved in settlements with 5 women over sexual harassment claims and paid out around 13 million in settlements.

Trump responded to this to a New York Times reporter

“Personally, I think he shouldn’t have settled,” Mr. Trump said in an interview in the Oval Office with Times reporters. “Because you should have taken it all the way; I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”

“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” Mr. Trump said.

Now, Trump, I get it. Bill is your friend. Bill is someone you trust and would never suspect would do something. You also understand that famous men get attacked with fake claims like this all the time. None of that matters right now. Nobody truly knows what O’Reilly did. Only O’Reilly and these women know. So sticking your neck out for someone who may be guilty just isn’t smart.

If it turns out that these cases were legitimate then you look dumb. If nothing more happens with these cases you look dumb. The only way you would be “vindicated” is if these women themselves came out and said they lied. That is extremely unlikely.

Trump, I have no issue with your lack of political correctness. I have no issue with your tweets. But pick and choose what battles you want to win. O’Reilly may be innocent but he very well may be guilty you don’t want to get caught up in that.
