AWFUL!: 13 shot, at least 1 dead in gun controlled Canada

Late Sunday night 13 were injured and at least 1 was killed (not counting the shooter) in Canada.

The Daily Beast:

Toronto’s police chief said late Sunday night that at least one victim was killed and 13 injured in a mass shooting in Greektown. The gunman opened fire on the Danforth, a street filled with open-air restaurants and pedestrians, earlier in the night, with a witness telling the AP he heard 20 to 30 shots. Police later said the gunman was dead and that it was too soon to say whether the attack was terrorism.

According to gunpolicy.org Canada has ‘Restrictive’ Gun Control measures and the AR-15 is banned.

Canada’s mayor John Tory went almost immediately to the guns.

CBC:

Mayor John Tory believes Sunday night’s shooting is “evidence of a gun problem” in Toronto.

“Guns are too readily available to too many people,” Tory told reporters during a news conference two hours after the shooting took place.

Last week, Toronto police started implementing the enforcement component of its “gun violence reduction plan.” That includes some 200 additional officers on shift in particular neighbourhoods between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. — when most shootings occur.

A few months ago a van drove into pedestrians on the street killing 10 and injuring 14.
