AFP is withdrawing this story.
The author of the report has clarified that his figures do not represent the number of children currently in migration-related US detention, but the total number of children in migration-related US detention in 2015.

I love how this was supposed to bash the US. The reason we have these migrants in detention is that they want to come into the US not because the US is terrible and racist. Also would they rather the US do nothing with them and just leave them to die?
